Prospective presenters are encouraged to submit proposals for papers, posters/demonstrations and video presentations that offer new research or theoretical contributions. Presentations should be in Turkish, English, and Arabic and should address both theoretical issues and new research findings.

    ISTEC 2012 conference is supported by Sakarya University and TASET and will take place on December 13-15, 2012 at Holiday Inn Sharjah in Dubai.     Authors are asked to submit their abstracts in an anonymous DOC file to the following email address:

    Abstracts, stating research questions, approach, method, data and (expected) results, should be anonymous and contain between 400 and 500 words (exclusive of references), set in Times New Roman 12-point type, single line spacing and 2.5 cm margins. Participants are allowed to present only one single-authored paper at ELALT 2013. In addition, they may have a joint paper (without being the first author).
    In order to participate in the activities of ELALT 2, the authors of single-authored papers must register for the conference; in the case of joint papers, only the first author registers. Presentation slots last 30 minutes (20-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute discussion).

    The 2012 International Symposia on Cultural Diplomacy (Berlin, Geneva, Washington D.C., June 1st - June 28th, 2012)- CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
    The International Symposia on Cultural Diplomacy 2012 is the world’s leading and largest event in the field of cultural diplomacy. The Symposia 2012 will include five large-scale events incorporating the fields of cultural diplomacy, international politics and economics, and international human rights.
    The events will take place in three different countries throughout the entire month of June and will include over 200 high level speakers and over 2000 participants.     The Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies (of the ICD Academy for Cultural Diplomacy) is the world’s leading center for the study of cultural diplomacy, offering educational opportunities in partnership with leading European universities and institutions.

    [24.5.2012.] Mi i Oni - simboličke podele u društvu u Srbiji

    Centar za empirijske studije kulture jugoistocne Evrope i Institut za filozofiju i drustvenu teoriju Univerziteta u Beogradu organizuju konferenciju "Mi i Oni – simboličke podele u društvu u Srbiji". Konferencija ce biti odrzana u 7 i 8. jula 2012. godine u prostorijama Instituta za filozofiju i drustvenu teoriju, Kraljice Natalije 45 u Beogradu. Konferencija se organizuje kao deo projekta "Socijalni i kulturni kapital u Srbiji" Centra za empirijske studije kulture jugoistocne Evrope. Projekat je finansijski podrzan u okviru Regional Research Promotion Programme in the Western Balkans (RRPP). Zeleli bismo da na konferenciji otvorimo debatu o najrazlicitijim tipovima simbolickih podela udrustvu u Srbiji (socio-ekonomskim, statusnim, politickim, religijskim, etnickim, moralnim, kulturnim, rodnim, seksualnim, regionalnim,urbano/ruralnim, podelama između „evropejskog" Severa i „orijentalnog" Juga zemlje i mnogim drugim), o nacnima njihovog ukrstanja (preklapanja, sukobljavanja...) i da zajedno propitamo ukojoj meri one „ocvrscavaju" u socijalne granice i uticu na drustveni zivot u Srbiji. Dobrodosli su i prilozi koji tematizuju simboličke podele u drugim zemljama regiona jugoistocne Evrope, kao i izlaganja koja nude teorijsku tematizaciju pojmova simbolickih granica i društvenih podela. Voleli bismo da se u diskusiju ukljuce predstavnici razlicitih naucnih disciplina, te na konferenciju pozivamo sociologe, antropologe, socijalne psihologe, filozofe, politologe, teoreticare koji se bave studijama kulture i sve one koji se sa naucnog stanovista bave ovim temama. Rok za podnosenje apstrakta je 10. jun 2012.godine. Apstrakti ne bi trebalo da budu duzi od 300 reci. Autori radova koji budu izabrani za prezentovanje na konferenciji bice o tome obavesteni do 17. juna 2012. godine. Ucesnici konferencije trebalo bi da spreme prezentacije trajanja od 15 do 20 minuta. Nije obavezno podnošenje gotovih tekstova do datuma održavanja konferencije. Radni jezik na konferenciji će biti srpski, ali apstrakti i prezentacije učesnika iz inostranstva mogu biti na engleskom jeziku. Za ucesce na konferenciji se ne placa kotizacija. Organizatori konferencije obezbedice za ucesnike i opremu (fascikle, blokovi, knjiga apstrakta, olovke), obroke i osvezenje (kafa, caj, sokovi), a od ucesnika konferencije se ocekuje da sami snose troskove puta i smestaja.     [29.2.2012.] IBCSE 2012: International Bilingual Conference on Sustainable Entrepreneurship

    Mauritius 22 – 24 November 2012
    Entrepreneurship is a growing field and is a dynamic force for economic change. The recent financial crisis has called for renewed discussions on the role of entrepreneurship in an economy. The call to create a sustainable economy is being answered by a new breed of environmental, social, and sustainability-driven entrepreneurs who are looking beyond conventional wisdom about what businesses are for and about, and how they can be run without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Indeed, the ecological dimension of sustainability must be addressed, but change towards sustainability requires rethinking of the values that businesses support, and the setting of a new agenda about how to face entrepreneurs’ challenges in addressing sustainable development issues.
    Conference IBCSE2012 – The International Bilingual Conference on Sustainable Entrepreneurship seeks to bring together academicians, researchers, policy makers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders in the field of entrepreneurship and other relevant fields involving sustainable development. This conference will provide an opportunity for all delegates to establish business or research relations, exchange ideas and experiences, and set an agenda for future collaboration and action, with a view to enhancing the understanding of the sustainable development-entrepreneurship nexus and the emergence of new knowledge.
    Thematic orientation
    To promote high-quality research and development among stakeholders in the field of sustainable development as it applies to entrepreneurship. 2. To take stock of achievements, to date, in the field of sustainable development in entrepreneurship. 3. To make a contribution to the state of awareness in matters of sustainable practises in entrepreneurship.
    Authors are invited to submit original, previously unpublished research papers, case studies, reviews, and doctoral papers (English and French) within the scope of the conference. Authors should submit an abstract of their work which should not exceed 300 words and should summarize the objectives, methodology, the main findings and implications of the study. Full-length papers not exceeding 6500 words will be blind reviewed. Accepted full-length papers/extended abstract will be published in the conference proceedings.     " Science Communication : International Perspectives, Issues and Strategies "
    4th to 7th September 2012, Nancy (France)
    Universities and research organisations are vibrant communities fully engaged in science communication. Their actions are all the more important because the relationship between science, technology and society at large is at the heart of current debate, particularly at a time when the rapid expansion of digital technology opens up uncountable modes of interaction between producers and users of information. This conference intends to take a closer look at the new forms of dialogue between those who are directly involved in the production of knowledge and those for whom ethical, political and economic questions linked to research and its outcomes are considered just as important as the progress of knowledge.

    Themes
    The proposals
    The proposals should address one of the proposed themes.
    Five strands of investigation to explore new horizons:
    • The specificity of science communication in universities and research centres
    • Public policy with regard to science communication
    • Collaborative work and partnership
    • Target audiences for science communication
    • New tools, new practices
    Deadline
    The deadline for proposals is February 10, 2012.
    Submitted proposals will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee. All successful proposals will be notified by April 15, 2012 at the latest and informed about the steps to take. Papers will only be added to the programme when the speakers have registred for the conference.
    The deadline for receipt of final papers is July 15, 2012.
    Publication
    The proceedings will be available online as of October 10, 2012. A printed publication of the proceedings is also considered.
